Role

Our client, a preeminent Irish Law firm, is currently sourcing an Associate to join their Technology and Intellectual Property team.

The work of the Group includes advising clients on information technology contracts, outsourcing, data protection, freedom of information and general internet and e-commerce advice. Responsibilities

  • All aspects of data protection law, including advising on and assisting clients in meeting obligations under the current data protection law regime and preparing for the application of the GDPR.
  • Drafting and negotiation of technology supply and implementation agreements software development agreements, software licences, IT services agreements and Software Support agreements.
  • E-commerce related matters including drafting on-line sale terms and conditions, user terms and conditions and website privacy statements.
  • Freedom of information and access to information on the environment matters, including advising on requests and appeals.
  • Non-contentious intellectual property, including drafting and negotiating assignment, licensing, collaboration, technology transfer, franchising, distribution, agency, sponsorship and naming rights agreements.
  • Outsourcing projects in both the public and private sectors.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor (ideally 1-5 yrs PQE) in Ireland or England and Wales
  • Experience with a top tier Irish or English Law firm
  • Have a strong academic record
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team player attitude

Market leading salary commensurate with experience.
